For the last Seventeen years, the Defense Supply Center in Philadelphia has provided Moline Township with surplus blankets to be distributed to our community’s homeless population. Once again, this year, Moline Township received 1200 blankets.

Representatives from the area agencies – Salvation Army, King’s Harvest & Vera French as well as the Townships of Hampton, Moline, Rock Island & South Rock Island, Mike Malmstrom with the Veteran’s Stand Down along with the area Police Force and other agencies who help the homeless – will be at Moline Township to pick up the blankets and begin the process of distribution on September 17th. Moline Township Supervisor, Don Johnston, will hand out the blankets and talk with the agencies about our continuing efforts to meet the needs of the overall homeless population.
